As a seasoned special education educator with 15 years of experience and program manager in nonprofits focusing on providing community support for students and families, Etolya Rahming has always been deeply passionate about empowering and educating youth. However, during the tenth year of teaching, a significant turning point occurred when Etolya began experiencing substantial anxiety, stress, and depression. The weight of these challenges led to daily anxiety attacks that hindered Etolya's ability to function effectively in the classroom.

Seeking relief, Etolya consulted with a doctor and found herself prescribed five different medications. Despite the effort to find a solution, Etolya faced six months of time off from teaching, grappling with the frustration of not being able to do what she loved most-educating and supporting students.

During Etolya's fifteenth year of teaching, a determination to regain control of her well-being led her to explore holistic approaches to address anxiety and stress. Extensive research on alternative therapies brought Etolya to the profound impact of sound therapy. Etolya attended a transformative sound therapy performed by Danielle Hall, who later became a cherished mentor.

Experiencing the positive impact of sound therapy on personal well-being, Etolya made a life-changing decision to gradually wean off all medications. Witnessing the transformative power of sound therapy firsthand, Etolya felt an overwhelming desire to help others, especially fellow educators and students, who may be facing similar challenges. Driven by this passion, Etolya pursued certification as a sound therapist under the expert guidance of Danielle Hall at the SoundEmbrace Institute.

Equipped with a Master's in Education, Certification in Social-Emotional Learning and a Certification in Sound Healing Therapy, Etolya has since dedicated herself to supporting individuals facing various mental health issues, including anxiety, stress, depression, PTSD, and trauma-related experiences. The scope of Etolya's expertise extends to facilitating sound healing therapy for Schools, Corporate Wellness Programs, NonProfits, and Therapy Centers, touching lives and igniting transcedent change.

Etolya's personal journey of resilience and healing serves as a guiding light, illuminating the path for others to embrace their own transformative experiences. At Medella Sound Therapy & Educational Services, we believe in the profound potential for growth and healing within each individual, and we are committed to walking this journey alongside you.

What is Sound Healing?

Sound healing is a therapeutic

modality that uses sound vibrations

to promote physical, emotional, and

mental well-being. It is based on the

principle that different sounds and

frequencies can positively impact the

human body and mind, helping to

restore balance and harmony

How does Sound Healing work?

Sound healing works by using various

instruments, such as singing bowls,

gongs, and tuning forks, to produce

specific frequencies and tones. When

these sounds interact with the body,

they help reduce stress, induce deep

relaxation, and create a meditative

state. The vibrations emitted by the

instruments resonate with our cells

and energy centers, encouraging

healing and alignment.

What is a Sound Bath?

A Sound Bath is a deeply relaxing and i

immersive sound healing experience.

Participants lie down or sit comfortably

while surrounded by the soothing sounds

of various instruments. The session aims to

"bathe" the participants in healing vibrations,

promoting a sense of tranquility and inner

peace.

How to Prepare?

To prepare for for a sound bath, we

recommend wearing comfortable clothing

that allows you to relax fully. It's best to

arrive a few minutes early to settle in. You

may bring a yoga mat or cushion to sit or

lie down on, a blanket for warmth, and a

bottle of water for hydration. We also

advise turning off or silencing your electronic

devices to ensure an uninterrupted and

seren experience.

What are the benefits of sound therapy and what can it help with?

  • Reducing stress and anxiety
  • Promoting relaxation and better sleep
  • Enhancing focus and concentration
  • Balancing emotions and improving mood
  • Aiding in pain management
  • Boosting creativity and self-expression
  • Supporting meditation and mindfulness practices
  • Strengthening the immune system
  • Assisting in the release of emotional blockages

Who should not attend a sound bath?

Individuals who have certain medical conditions

or health concerns should refrain from attending a

sound bath session. These conditions may include:

  1. Epilepsy or Seizure Disorders: Sound baths involve rhythmic and sometimes intense sound vibrations, which can potentially trigger seizures in individuals with epilepsy or seizure disorders.
  2. Pregnancy: Pregnant women should consult their healthcare provider before attending a sound bath, as some frequencies and vibrations might not be suitable during third trimester.
  3. Tinnitus or Hyperacusis: Those with sensitive hearing conditions, like tinnitus (ringing in the ears) or hyperacusis (sensitivity to sound), may find the sound bath too intense and potentially exacerbating their systems.
